This role involves completing work assignments that encompass various preventive and corrective maintenance tasks both indoors and outdoors across all campus buildings, ensuring optimal equipment performance, and maintaining safe and comfortable living and working environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct maintenance and minor repairs on plumbing, electrical, heating, and mechanical systems, as well as ceiling and floor structures, laundry, kitchen, and healthcare equipment.
- Perform maintenance, minor repairs, and preventive upkeep in resident apartments, communal areas, and office spaces as necessary.
- Replace or repair items including lightbulbs, switches, outlets, appliances, windows, fans, carpets, filters, and other equipment as required.
- Assist other skilled trades in the repair, replacement, maintenance, and installation of major structural components or equipment.
- Utilize various power and hand tools effectively to perform maintenance tasks.
- Participate in an on-call rotation as needed, adhering to established on-call procedures.
- Respond promptly to all emergency situations as they arise.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain work areas in a clean and organized manner.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned.
- Be flexible to cover the evening shift when necessary.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in retirement, long-term care, or acute care health facilities is advantageous.
- Familiarity with building structures and systems.
- Proficient knowledge and experience in the use of power and hand tools.
