Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Certified Medication Aide to join our team at Kensington Healthcare Center. As a Medication Aide, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents by administering medications and providing personal care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer medications in accordance with physician's orders and state/federal regulations
  • Display knowledge of side effects, interactions, and nursing implications of common medications
  • Account for controlled drugs each shift and report any discrepancies immediately
  • Chart routine medications, medication omissions, and documentation of PRN medication given with follow-up
  • Maintain inventory of medications and prepare monthly medication records
  • Provide personal care and treatment functions for residents, including basic nursing care and creating a clean, comfortable, and safe environment
  • Maintain resident documentation records for activities of daily living, restorative programs, and resident-specific forms
Requirements
  • High school graduate or G.E.D. equivalent
  • Graduate of an approved Nurse Aide Training Program
  • Certification as a CMA in the State of Maryland
  • Understanding of medication administration procedures and successful completion of a state-approved training course
  • Ability to perform basic math functions and make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
  • Prior experience in a healthcare environment is desirable
