Position Overview:

UIC Alaska is seeking a Radar Systems Specialist to support the Advanced Sensor Systems Division within the Electromagnetic and Sensor Systems Department. This role is crucial for the effective operation and maintenance of various radar systems utilized by Navy and Marine Corps.

Key Responsibilities:
The Radar Systems Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Operating and maintaining advanced radar systems including Dual Band Radar, Ground Air Task Oriented Radar, and other critical sensor systems.
  • Providing technical support for troubleshooting and testing radar systems, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Collaborating with clients to ensure the operational readiness of Navy and Marine Corps systems.
  • Documenting and reporting on the operational state and performance quality of complex sensor systems.

Qualifications:
Applicants should possess:

  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in operating and maintaining tactical radar systems.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot hardware issues according to established Navy or Marine Corps protocols.
  • Experience in identifying sensor performance issues at both software and hardware levels.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse teams and external contacts.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and sound judgment, capable of working independently or collaboratively.
  • Willingness to work 100% of the time at customer sites.

Physical Requirements:
Candidates must be able to:

  • Lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Perform physical activities such as twisting, bending, and squatting.

Security Clearance:
Applicants must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level, with US Citizenship required for this clearance.
