Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Campus Security Officer to join our team at Tulsa Public Schools. As a key member of our security team, you will be responsible for providing a safe and secure environment for our students, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide security presence and assistance to faculty, staff, and police officers in promoting a safe and orderly school environment.
  • Assist at athletic events, special events, and other assignments outside of normal duty time.
  • Support police officers in securing buildings and property, investigating disturbances, and maintaining order during special events.
  • Provide first aid and alert additional police or emergency personnel as needed.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Associate's degree in criminal justice preferred
  • Prior experience in a school environment or in security or policing is desired
  • Must possess a current Council of Law Enforcement Education and Training (CLEET) Armed Security Guard License-Phase IV
  • Must meet all standards to be a CLEET-licensed Armed Security Guard - Phase IV set forth in state law
  • Must take all necessary continuing education training to maintain a CLEET Armed Security Guard License - Phase IV throughout employment

Physical Requirements:

  • Must possess the physical strength and stamina necessary to chase and subdue fleeing persons and rescue victims
  • Must be able to stand, stoop, sit, and walk for long periods of time
  • Must be able to occasionally lift light and heavy objects, use tools and equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity
