Key Duties:
- Power Distribution Proficiency: Deliver thorough engineering support for all power distribution facets, encompassing medium and low voltage systems, to guarantee smooth operations throughout the facility.
- Leadership in Electrical Standards: Formulate, uphold, and enforce comprehensive electrical standards across the site, fostering a culture centered on safety and compliance.
- Advocate for Electrical Safety: Spearhead initiatives aimed at reinforcing and advancing our electrical safety culture, promoting safety-first practices among the team.
- Utility Engagement: Act as the main liaison with the local utility provider, overseeing high voltage sources and ensuring dependable power supply.
- Technical Issue Resolution: Work closely with operations and the electrical team to identify and rectify control challenges, utilizing your expertise in electrical systems.
- Infrastructure Assessment & Planning: Evaluate and maintain substation and motor control center infrastructure, devising a strategic 5-year plan for upgrades and improvements.
- Design for Capital Projects: Assist in capital improvement initiatives with electrical design expertise, ensuring compliance with local and national standards, with potential for greater involvement in large-scale projects.
- Leadership in Reliability Programs: Direct reliability initiatives for electrical equipment, developing and refining preventative maintenance protocols to secure long-term operational success.
- Arc Flash & Coordination Settings Management: Finalize and maintain arc flash settings utilizing advanced software, and implement coordination settings for 480V substations to enhance performance.
- Failure Analysis Leadership: Conduct thorough failure analysis related to site power distribution, identifying root causes and implementing corrective measures.
- Regulatory Compliance: Interpret and apply NEC, local electrical codes, and NFPA standards to ensure all site operations adhere to regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in E&I drawings, including electrical schematics, logic diagrams, and P&I diagrams.
- Strong troubleshooting capabilities for power distribution systems, utilizing a combination of drawings, diagnostic data, and field observations.
- Experience in sizing electrical installations and specifying equipment for site enhancements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated success in safely executing electrical work in an industrial context.
- Hands-on experience with PLCs, single-loop controllers, and process interlocks.
- Familiarity with electrical standards and Process Safety Management (PSM) protocols.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to mentor and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Experience in supporting substation diagnostics and working with B-phase grounded and high resistance ground systems.
