Nurse Specialist in Medical and Surgical Care

About the Role:
">The Albany Medical Center is seeking a skilled Clinical Nurse – Med Surg Float Pool to join its team. As a key member of the nursing staff, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to a collaborative and dynamic work environment.
">Job Summary:
">We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate nurse with experience in medical and surgical care to join our float pool team. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong commitment to delivering exceptional patient care, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
">Duties and Responsibilities:

- Assess, coordinate, plan, direct, implement, and manage the needs of assigned patients throughout their episode of care;">
- Provide primary and emergency care for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses;">
- Implement physician orders, administer medications, start IVs, perform treatments, procedures, and special tests, and document treatment as required by company policy and local/state/federal rules and regulations;">
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients' conditions;">
- Collaborate with the nursing team to create a Plan of Care for all patients;">
- Direct and guide ancillary personnel and maintain standards of professional nursing;">
- Minimum Qualifications: Graduate of a professional academic nursing program in which a Diploma, Associate Degree, or Baccalaureate Degree is conferred; Must hold current NYS Registered Nurse license; Obtains and maintains certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS); Minimum of 1-3 years of clinical RN experience is required; Minimum of 1 year of Telemetry or ICU experience is required; Ability to improve job performance through continuing education;">
- Possesses knowledge of quality concepts, principles, and problem-solving tools and techniques and demonstrates ability to apply in support of departmental and patient care quality improvement;">
