Mechanical Controls Technician

We are currently seeking a skilled Automation Technician to join our team. As an Automation Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and improving the performance of our building automation systems. Main Responsibilities:
• Test, inspect, adjust, troubleshoot, and diagnose issues with dampers, actuators, sensors, valves, and other automation components.
• Identify mechanical equipment and related automation components from drawings for chillers, boilers, pumps, AHUs, FCUs, VAVs, etc.
• Understand and troubleshoot basic electrical control circuits, including 24VAC/DC power and controller inputs/outputs.
• Collaborate with the service department to order replacement materials and ensure prompt delivery and installation.
• Prepare schematic drawings, sketches, and reports to reflect changes or alterations made in instruments, circuits, and systems for service reports.
• Monitor, identify, and diagnose potential problems using computer workstations and on-site observations.
• Stay updated with industry advancements and incorporate new technologies and best practices to enhance the efficiency of building automation systems.
Required Skills:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferably Electrical or Mechanical) or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of relevant experience, with at least 2 years as an automation technician.
• Strong understanding of building automation system networks and protocols for effective problem diagnosis and resolution.
• Relevant certifications in Niagara and Distech Controls are highly preferred.
• Technical skills include knowledge of electronics, mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and programming.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ensuring clear interactions with clients and team members.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues, propose solutions, and implement changes.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and provide technical support to colleagues.
• Willingness to adapt to evolving technologies and methodologies within the field of building automation systems.
• A valid driver's license is required.
Estimated Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
