Christmas Kettle Driver

Job Summary:

The Salvation Army is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented individual to serve as a Christmas Kettle Driver. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving kettle stands and collection buckets to their designated locations, ensuring a successful holiday season for our organization.

Responsibilities:

• Drive kettle stands and collection buckets to their scheduled locations daily

• Perform other Christmas-related driving duties as assigned by the Commanding Officer

• Assist with transporting kettle deposits to the bank as needed

• Prepare and ready all necessary kettle supplies, making repairs if necessary

• Confer daily with the CO regarding suggestions for route improvement

• Ensure kettle workers have daily supplies as needed, delivering supplies as necessary

• Instruct kettle workers on their daily duties, ensuring breaks and lunches are observed

• Ensure kettle workers' hours are reported accurately to the CO

• Daily visit kettle sites outside of drop-off and pick-up times to ensure workers are adequately filling their roles

• Report any concerns regarding workers, equipment, or location logistics to the CO immediately

• Network with kettle volunteers, providing good attention to detail and thanking them for their service

Requirements:

• Must possess a valid Washington State driver's license

• Must pass The Salvation Army's in-house driving test and Motor Vehicle Records check

• Must be willing to continually lift 30 pounds and occasionally 50 pounds

• Must pass a criminal background check

Working Conditions:

This role requires working in outside inclement weather and may involve physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomfort with noise, rain, snow, dust, dirt, and similar. The Salvation Army reserves the right to reassign, review the job, or require that different or additional tasks be performed based on the organization's needs or when circumstances change.
