Job Summary
InterCon Construction is seeking a skilled Laborer to join our team in Central Wisconsin. As a Laborer, you will play a crucial role in the construction process, ensuring the safe and efficient installation of utilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare work sites to locate utilities and eliminate potential hazards.
- Signal operators to facilitate equipment movement or alignment.
- Load, unload, and transport construction materials and tools.
- Configure pipe routes and assemble gas piping and equipment.
- Follow safety standards throughout the process, including digging trenches, sliding pipe into trenches, grading trenches, and sealing joints.
- Ensure pipes are fitted and aligned using grade rods or transit levels.
- Cover pipes or cable with dirt or other material.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Class A CDL preferred.
- Ability to travel.
- Ability to bend, kneel, stand, and walk for long periods.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull 50 pounds regularly.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience installing gas mains and fiber optic cables preferred.
- Education in Gas and Utilities Construction preferred.
