Role Summary:
The Heavy Equipment Operator is tasked with the safe and proficient operation of assigned machinery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to and actively promote all safety protocols and procedures, including the reporting of accidents, incidents, and near misses, to uphold our primary core value – Safety, which is paramount in all our endeavors.
- Complete daily equipment condition assessments and checklists, submitting them to the Project Superintendent.
- Maintain cleanliness of machinery, which includes daily cab cleaning, weekly interior maintenance, and bi-weekly lubrication of doors and windows.
- Understand and comply with all company safety regulations, ensuring awareness of utility locations within the work area. Take responsibility for personal safety and that of colleagues.
- Communicate daily with the Superintendent or Foreman regarding equipment fuel levels to facilitate scheduling of fuel deliveries as necessary.
- Document any required supplies on the equipment report and inform the Superintendent of needs such as grease, oil, rags, cleaning materials, or requests for steam cleaning.
Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of experience operating heavy machinery in civil construction.
- Familiarity with Loaders, Excavators, Skid Steers, and Dozers.
- Experience in asphalt production is preferred.
