Job Title: Pediatric Medical Assistant

University Physicians Assoc Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Pediatric Medical Assistant to join our team in Knoxville. As a key member of our Pediatric Gastroenterology office, you will play a vital role in supporting our dynamic team and providing exceptional patient care.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a team-oriented full-time Medical Assistant to support our large, privately owned specialty practice. The ideal candidate will have critical thinking skills, computer proficiency, and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Respond to incoming phone calls regarding medical questions and concerns.
  • Assist in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a Physician.
  • Relieve other medical personnel of administrative, clinical, and clerical work by performing various duties.
  • Support the office clinic under the direction of the Nurse Manager as needed.
  • Document and utilize the electronic medical record according to HIPAA guidelines.
  • Follow all practice policies and procedures for appointment scheduling, insurance verification, telephone interactions, and other job responsibilities.
Requirements:
  • Must have 6-12 months of previous medical experience.
  • Phlebotomy experience preferred.
  • Bi-Lingual (Spanish) preferred.
