MedPro Healthcare Staffing is actively seeking a skilled Registered Nurse specializing in Long-Term Acute Care for a travel nursing opportunity.

Position Overview

As a vital member of the healthcare team, the Long-Term Acute Care Nurse (RN) will be responsible for delivering exceptional patient care to individuals requiring extended medical attention.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage care for a patient load of 5-6 individuals.
  • Adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Oversee numerous patient admissions and discharges efficiently.
  • Administer medications via various routes, including oral, subcutaneous, and intravenous.
  • Provide education to patients and their families regarding surgical procedures and illness management.
  • Monitor and operate specialized medical equipment, ensuring accurate interpretation of electronic displays.
  • Analyze telemetry readings and promptly communicate any irregularities to the medical team.
  • Perform all duties expected of a registered nurse consistently.
  • Care for patients with complex conditions such as pulmonary hypertension, respiratory failure, and atrial fibrillation.
  • Utilize computer systems to track cardiac and vital information.
  • Initiate IVs, draw blood, and manage patient care from start to finish.
Qualifications
  • Possession of an active RN license.
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
  • A minimum of eighteen months of recent experience in a Long-Term Acute Care setting.
  • Proficiency in managing ventilators, tracheostomies, intravenous drips, and feeding tubes, along with the ability to interpret telemetry strips.
  • Additional qualifications may be specified by the healthcare facility.
