The salary range for this position is: $39.38 to $43.53 per hour.
Final salary will be influenced by various factors including minimum and preferred qualifications, expertise, skills, education, experience, and geographical location.
Educational and Experience RequirementsHigh School Diploma or GED is mandatory. A minimum of 5 years of relevant maintenance experience along with technical training is required. An A&P (FAA Airframe and Powerplant) license is essential. Position Objective: The Technical Skills Instructor is tasked with delivering skills training through on-the-job instruction as necessary and directed. This role aids mechanics and technicians in developing a structured and progressive competency-based technical training program. The instructor supports the training and advancement of technical personnel within the company, including basic avionics and system familiarization.
Job Responsibilities
Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Essential Functions:
- Conducts classroom and hands-on technical training for employees across all locations as directed by management, establishing oneself as the technical authority and primary contact for trainees.
- Ensures compliance with aircraft safety standards, promoting a thorough understanding of high safety and quality standards.
- Assists in developing training plans and setting objectives that align with organizational goals.
- Provides support to the local facility.
- Maintains accurate documentation in accordance with the facility's OJT program and adheres to training manual guidelines.
- Instills values of personal accountability and integrity in trainees.
- Offers guidance to ensure a comprehensive understanding of high-risk tasks.
- Delivers remedial training, shares knowledge of aircraft systems, and teaches troubleshooting methods to less experienced technicians.
- Engages with repair station trends (SMS, Top 3, First Pass Yield) to identify training priorities.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, IPCs, ASCs, CBs, CMP cards, engineering orders, and blueprints.
- Capable of troubleshooting systems during tests and performing operational checks.
- Available to conduct training across all shifts and travel to various locations.
- Possesses strong facilitation and presentation skills.
- Exhibits good organizational skills along with strong verbal and written communication abilities.
Other Requirements:
- Must be proficient in reading and interpreting maintenance manuals, IPCs, ASCs, CBs, CMP cards, engineering orders, and blueprints.
- Ability to troubleshoot systems during tests and conduct operational checks.
- Willingness to conduct training on any shift and travel as needed.
