Nurse Intern Job Description

Overview

The Nurse Intern role has been created to support recent graduates in gaining practical experience under the supervision of a licensed nurse. This opportunity is made possible by the Massachusetts Executive Order, which allows recent graduates to work under a licensed supervisor during the COVID-19 health emergency, even before taking the NCLEX exam.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work under the supervision of a licensed nurse to gain practical experience
  • Inform patients of their status as a Nurse Intern and work under Massachusetts Executive Order
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to meet patient needs
  • Participate in educational programming and shadow opportunities
  • Take the NCLEX exam at the first available offering after receiving authorization from the Board of Registration in Nursing
  • Work at Hebrew SeniorLife as a nurse for at least two years after passing the NCLEX exam

Requirements

  • Recent graduate of a nursing program
  • Ability to work under supervision
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Computer literacy
  • English language proficiency
