Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Staff Accountant to join our Finance team at Helen of Troy. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for various tasks related to payroll, month-end close, general ledger review, account reconciliations, and other tasks as assigned in support of shared services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare payroll journal entries with supporting documents.
  • Prepare journal entries with supporting documents in support of monthly closing process.
  • Reconciliation of assigned balance sheet accounts including payroll.
  • Prepare different payroll-related reports.
  • Complete variance analysis.
  • Financial statements are free from material errors or misstatements.
  • Performs month-end close of sub-module for approximately 36 sub-systems.
  • Prepare intercompany agreement transactions.
  • Ensure variances are corrected in a timely manner.
  • Validation of the final numbers.
  • Prepares and maintains royalty income journals and reconciliations.
  • Assists with internal and external audit requirements.
  • Preparing requested schedules.
  • Complying with Sarbanes Oxley requirements.
  • Contributes to the annual operating budgeting process through analysis and review of annual operating budget proposal.
  • Assists with quarterly forecasts.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in accounting.
  • 3+ years equivalent work experience.
  • Corporate accounting experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CPA.
  • 2 years of payroll accounting experience.
  • Consumer Product Goods industry experience.
  • International publicly-traded accounting experience.
  • Multi-entity or intercompany experience.
  • Proficient in using Oracle Business Intelligence (Oracle Hyperion).
