Job Overview

Position Summary
The Quality Assurance Supervisor plays a crucial role in guaranteeing the effective execution of the organization's policies, procedures, and initiatives aimed at maintaining the quality of produced goods. This position requires close collaboration with various department leaders and supervisory personnel to uphold and improve product quality, proactively address and mitigate issues affecting product integrity, enhance productivity, and comply with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and guide Quality Assurance Technicians/Inspectors responsible for enforcing Good Manufacturing Practices and other quality-related protocols to ensure compliance with product quality benchmarks.
  • Manage daily Quality Assurance functions, serving as the primary QA representative for operational staff.
  • Examine Production Batch Records and other manufacturing documentation to ensure adherence to compliance and accurate record-keeping for all required manufacturing processes, quality assessments, testing, sampling, and sanitation tasks.
  • Conduct audits of quality control for raw materials, packaging components, labels, and finished products to verify conformity with established specifications and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, and Quality Engineering teams to create control plans and validate processes.
  • Draft, update, and modify Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions for the Quality Unit while providing insights and expertise on similar documents for the Production, Sales, and Supply Chain departments.
  • Investigate and assist relevant departments in implementing immediate corrective/preventative actions in response to customer and internal Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs) as necessary.
  • Document and analyze cGMP/process deviations and customer complaints, participating in the Material Review Board to address non-conforming materials.
  • Coordinate with Supply Chain to manage the return of non-conforming materials to suppliers.
  • Generate Certificates of Compliance and destruction to ensure regulated materials (e.g., hazardous chemicals, OTC product labels) are disposed of according to legal requirements.
  • Develop and sustain QA programs that align with the enterprise quality system, corporate goals, and policies.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Sciences, Quality Management, or Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, ideally within a manufacturing context.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems.
  • Strong grasp of statistical analysis and process enhancement methodologies.
  • A growth mindset with a readiness to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment.

Skills and Proficiencies

  • Proficient in English language skills: reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension.
  • Working knowledge of FDA regulations and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Self-motivated with exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, including report writing and grammar.
  • Excellent critical thinking abilities.
  • Capable of making independent and confident decisions.
  • Possesses strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Able and willing to train team members.
