We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic team at UnityPoint Health. As a Cardiology Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare team.
Responsibilities:
Conduct patient assessments and record vital signs. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed. Conduct and assist with nuclear cardiology tests, including myocardial perfusion imaging and stress tests, following protocols and safety guidelines. Prepare patients for nuclear testing by explaining procedures, obtaining informed consent, and administering appropriate medications if required. Monitor patients' vital signs and overall well-being before, during, and after nuclear testing, ensuring prompt response to any adverse reactions. Educate patients and families about cardiovascular conditions and treatment plans. Monitor patient progress and communicate changes to the healthcare team. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation. Provide post-procedure care and follow-up instructions. Participate in patient care conferences and quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
Graduate of an approved professional nursing program and high school diploma or equivalent. Current Iowa RN License or Current RN license in Compact State of Residence. 3+ years of nursing experience preferred (Cardiology or Critical Care).
