Your Key Responsibilities:
Management of Engineering Department:
- Oversee daily operations of the engineering team, ensuring optimal performance.
- Identify challenges, implement necessary adjustments, and track progress.
- Participate in production meetings to provide updates and support product introductions.
- Supervise the creation and upkeep of Engineering Masters.
- Engage in client visits and represent the engineering division.
Budget and Resource Oversight:
- Administer the department's budget, including software licenses, training, and travel.
- Coordinate workload to ensure effective scheduling and resource utilization.
- Maintain compliance with organizational protocols and directory structures.
Leadership and Team Development:
- Cross-train staff to ensure coverage of all essential functions.
- Establish performance objectives for team members and monitor their progress.
- Lead initiatives for employee development, focusing on skills in programming, problem-solving, teamwork, and leadership.
- Encourage a positive workplace culture by fostering strong interdepartmental relationships.
Process Enhancement and Compliance:
- Monitor machining durations to ensure alignment with quoted estimates.
- Proactively manage and refine existing programs to promote continuous improvement.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of setup and teardown documentation.
- Act as the primary engineering liaison for operational support.
Project Management and Interdepartmental Collaboration:
- Manage project timelines and ensure the timely completion of departmental initiatives.
- Collaborate with other divisions, such as Sales, Purchasing, and Manufacturing, to guarantee projects are executed on schedule and within budget.
- Support the manufacturing process in various capacities as required.

Qualifications for Success:
Industry Expertise:
- Must possess fastener experience and a solid understanding of metalworking and manufacturing processes, including 5-axis mill turn, 3-axis lathes, Swiss machining, grinding, and work holding.
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, CAD (SolidWorks), and CAM software (AutoCAD Part Maker, SurfCam, Mastercam, etc.).
- Ability to create and modify work instructions for both the manufacturing engineering team and the programming department.
Leadership and Communication:
- Strong leadership capabilities with a focus on developing and mentoring team members.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, adaptable to various organizational levels.
Organizational and Analytical Skills:
- Highly organized, capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills, emphasizing process enhancement.
