About the Role

Hannaford Supermarkets is seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Sales Associate to join our Meat Department team. As a Sales Associate, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a clean and organized store environment, and supporting the overall success of our meat department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide outstanding customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Maintain a clean and organized store environment, adhering to company standards for cleanliness and safety.
  • Support the meat department team in achieving sales goals and objectives, including maintaining accurate inventory levels and processing transactions efficiently.
  • Assist with receiving and stocking meat products, including rotating stock and ensuring proper storage and handling procedures are followed.
  • Participate in visual merchandising and display of meat products, ensuring a visually appealing and attractive store environment.
  • Collaborate with the meat department team to achieve sales goals and objectives, including participating in sales promotions and events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management, including assisting with inventory management, processing transactions, and maintaining store equipment.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers and colleagues.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and stand for long periods of time, with frequent bending and reaching.
  • Basic math skills and accuracy with handling cash and operating a point-of-sale system.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a retail or food service environment.
  • Knowledge of meat products and preparation methods.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with point-of-sale systems.
