Key ResponsibilitiesThe Transport Logistics Specialist is tasked with ensuring that our clients receive their products promptly while facilitating the seamless movement of goods in and out of our facilities. This role collaborates closely with all personnel involved in Animal Health operations.
This position may involve operating a company vehicle, and adherence to all driving regulations is mandatory. The ideal candidate will possess a valid CDL license and have prior experience in delivery or logistics.
Essential Duties:
- Transport goods to specified locations and manage the loading/unloading of supplies as per customer orders and shipping documents.
- Receive and verify incoming shipments upon arrival at the warehouse.
- Conduct inspections of vehicle equipment and supplies, including tires, lights, brakes, and fluid levels, before and after each trip.
- Ensure vehicle maintenance is performed regularly and report any safety concerns to the Warehouse Manager.
- Document all necessary repairs with the leasing company and Warehouse Manager.
- Execute emergency roadside repairs as needed.
- Ensure that cargo is secured during transport.
- Maintain accurate driving logs and comply with all relevant regulations, including DOT and Hazmat guidelines.
- Communicate consistently with the Warehouse Manager regarding delivery instructions and any discrepancies.
- Assist in inventory management, including assessing customer needs and placing orders for stock replenishment.
- Keep the warehouse organized and clean.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Experience and Education:
A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Candidates should have six months to a year of relevant experience. A valid CDL with hazmat endorsement and forklift operation experience is required. Physical capabilities should include the ability to lift up to 35 lbs regularly and 50 lbs occasionally, with occasional lifting of up to 100 lbs.
Work Environment:
This role involves working in both warehouse settings and at customer locations, which may include exposure to varying temperatures and environmental conditions.
Physical Requirements:
This position demands a high level of physical activity, including standing, walking, lifting, and handling various materials. Frequent climbing, bending, and repetitive motions are also required.
