Role Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Veterinary Technician to join our Surgery Team at BluePearl Pet Hospital in Langhorne, PA.
About the Role:
- Assist in patient procedures using knowledge of anesthesia and analgesia related protocols and procedures.
- Monitor anesthesia, trouble shoot anesthetic complications, and make appropriate interventions.
- Perform physical exam; accurately counts heart, pulse rate, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate and effort.
- Understand normal vital parameters and alerts doctor when abnormal.
- Set up intravenous fluids and CRI's.
- Continuous expansion of knowledge and skillset: advanced anesthetic skills including epidurals, difficult airway intubation, and critical case management.
- Operate all brands of intravenous fluid pumps and can troubleshoot errors.
- Comfortable with medical math.
- Ability to take patient through entire procedure from start to finish (pre-op, monitoring, post-op, and recovery).
- Manage appointments, obtain histories, medical record keeping, invoicing, patient discharges, etc.
- Disconnect and connect patients from intravenous fluids aseptically.
- Monitor patient response to fluid therapy including signs of overload.

What We Offer:
- A competitive salary with a pay band of $21.00 - $43.00 per hour, dependent on experience and advancement through our competency leveling system.
- Competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked for nights and weekends.
- A rotating on call schedule is required once training has been completed.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
- 1-2 years of experience as a veterinary technician or related field.
- Strong knowledge of anesthesia and analgesia related protocols and procedures.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
