Job Summary:

We are seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant Trainee to join our team at McGuire Group Health Care Facilities. As a Certified Nursing Assistant Trainee, you will be responsible for performing various basic duties necessary to the operation of the nursing department in support of nurses and nursing assistants.

The successful candidate will actively participate in the State approved 100-hour Nurse Aide Training Program or have completed the program and be waiting to take the clinical and written evaluations. The program is full-time, with classes held at D'Youville College and clinics at Autumn View.

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of age-specific developmental factors specific to adult and geriatric residents (i.e., physical, cognitive, and socialization factors) in planning care delivery.
  • Attend all mandatory in-services by employee's anniversary date.
  • Act appropriately under the direction of the Inservice Coordinator or Charge Nurse and act as an active member of the interdisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrate ability to adjust to changes in units/shift assignments to meet resident and facility needs.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of and comply with the Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program when performing work functions.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 18 years of age.
  • No findings or convictions of resident abuse, mistreatment, and misappropriation of property.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to follow written and verbal instructions and work well with and show respect towards fellow staff members, physicians, residents, and family members.
  • Caring and compassionate bedside manner.
  • Respect for residents' privacy and rights; display of genuine concern for the elderly.
  • Able to perform tasks while upholding high standards of quality, cleanliness, and kindness.
  • Physical endurance for frequent activity; ability to lift a minimum of 20 pounds.
