Position Overview:

The Radiology Technologist will provide radiological services to patients while adhering to department organizational policies, procedures, and standards. This role requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team to provide high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate imaging equipment and other devices as necessary to provide radiographic diagnostic services.
  • Evaluate radiographs for technical quality and seek advice when necessary.
  • Troubleshoot and problem-solve certain factors before calling service.
  • Produce quality Radiographs and conform to department standards.
  • Maintain sound employee radiation safe practices that are in compliance with ALARA and the standards set by the State of Massachusetts.
  • Maintain or report on established supply shelf levels for the department.
  • Stock and rotate stocks on shelves with replacements when supplies arrive.
  • Check the supplies in the department on a daily basis and communicate low stock levels.
  • Initiate life support measures, if necessary.
  • Possess a workable knowledge of the \"Code Blue\" protocol.
  • Possess a workable knowledge of the \"Nurse Call\" system.
  • Know where the code cart and other emergency supplies are kept.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills required to perform processes involved in the delivery of age-appropriate care.
  • Provide care appropriate to the patient population served.

Requirements:

  • Completion of a two-year program with an accredited school of Radiologic Technology with an Associate Degree or Certificate.
  • Valid license from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a registered Radiology Technology.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • In good standing with the ASRT and ARRT.
  • Knowledge of various software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Proven excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualification:

EMR experience (EPIC).

Orthopedics Experience.
