Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Ophthalmic Photographer to join our team at Northwestern Medicine. As a key member of our Department of Ophthalmology, you will provide technical support to physicians and sub-specialists, performing various tests and interacting with patients in a professional and friendly manner.

Responsibilities
  • Perform and document tests and procedures per physician expectations and special testing requirements
  • Knowledge of ophthalmic imaging preferred, including color fundus photos, OCT, Fluorescein Angiogram, and Slit Lamp Photo
  • Prepare rooms and maintain equipment, laboratory stock, and cleaning
  • Order supplies, including laboratory supplies, medications, ocular supplies, and instruments
  • Function as an integral part of the patient care team and promote patient satisfaction through professional and friendly interactions
  • Accept and perform delegated responsibilities in a positive manner and offer assistance to others
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings, communicate effectively with patients and the patient care team, and perform delegated procedures in a safe and efficient manner
Qualifications
  • High School diploma required; Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • 1-2 years prior experience in an ophthalmology role; previous experience in ophthalmic photography preferred
  • Certification as a Retinal Angiographer when eligible
