About the Position

The Frederick Gunn School, a prestigious co-educational boarding and day school, is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the role of Librarian Assistant for Academic Excellence. Located in Washington, Connecticut, our school provides a unique opportunity for students to thrive in a supportive environment.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized librarian assistant to provide research and circulation assistance to students and faculty. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining general library operations during evening study hall hours, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent customer service to students and faculty, addressing their queries and concerns with professionalism and patience.
  • Assist with troubleshooting technical issues and refer problems to the IT team as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized library environment, adhering to established standards and protocols.
  • SUPVISE the evening library study hall, promoting an academic atmosphere and encouraging students to utilize resources effectively.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience.
  • CLOSE attention to detail and ability to work in a noisy, user-centered environment.
  • Positive attitude towards adolescents.
  • Ability to lift moderate to heavy books and materials.
