Top Docs, Inc is currently seeking to engage a Licensed Psychologist, PsyD, or Psychiatrist to conduct Compensation & Pension Evaluations (C&P) for our esteemed military Veterans across various locations in the United States.
- Contract Duration: 6-12 months (with the possibility of extension)
- Work Schedule: 2-3 days per week
- Compensation: Competitive hourly rate
Role Overview:
Your expertise will contribute to the Veterans Benefits Administration Medical Disabilities Examinations program. Veterans will be scheduled for evaluations at contracted facilities, where practitioners are embedded as required. These facilities are strategically located in areas with significant Veteran populations, ensuring a high volume of cases.
- The C&P evaluation assists the VA in addressing inquiries regarding Veterans' current health status. Practitioners will not determine disability percentages, create treatment plans, or prescribe medications.
- All completed documentation will be forwarded to the VA for final decisions on disability claims.
- Prior to evaluations, practitioners will review Veterans' medical or mental health histories, utilizing electronic bookmarks to highlight relevant information.
- During the evaluation, practitioners will navigate a web-based examination form to document Veterans' responses.
- Electronic documentation, known as a Disability Benefits Questionnaire (DBQ), must be submitted within 48 hours following each appointment.
- The number of DBQs completed will vary based on the conditions claimed by the Veteran.
- Administrative time will be allocated to ensure timely completion and submission of exam documentation.
- Documentation will be reviewed by a team of medical professionals to ensure compliance with contract requirements.
- Requests for modifications to exam documentation must be submitted within 48 hours post-appointment.
- Review pertinent medical history and conduct one-time, non-treatment evaluations for Veterans.
- Responses will be captured electronically during the examination process.
- Completed evaluations will be sent to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs for disability award determinations.
- Behavioral health evaluations will be scheduled for 90+ minutes to thoroughly assess conditions such as PTSD, depression, anxiety, and eating disorders.
• Exam submission will be conducted online, ensuring that the flow of the patient interview remains uninterrupted.
Qualifications:
Ideal candidates will possess a PhD or PsyD in Psychology from an APA accredited program or be a BC/BE MD. Candidates must hold an active license and demonstrate the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Strong interpersonal skills and adaptability to changing situations are essential. Basic computer proficiency is required.
*Experience with compensation exams or the VA is preferred but not mandatory. Comprehensive training will be provided.
