Job Summary:
The Bell Captain is a key member of our hospitality team at Alohilani Resort Waikiki Beach. As a Bell Captain, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our guests, ensuring their luggage is handled with care, and making their stay with us a memorable one.
Key Responsibilities:
- Load and unload luggage carts in a timely and efficient manner.
- Organize and deliver luggage for tour groups, ensuring that all guests receive their belongings in a timely manner.
- Escort guests to their rooms, familiarize them with hotel services, and ensure they have everything they need for a comfortable stay.
- Inspect guest rooms to ensure they are in order and that supplies are adequate.
- Explain the features of the room, including the operation of electronic devices and entertainment systems.
- Check and store luggage for arrivals and departures, using luggage tags to ensure accurate tracking.
- Store, track, and deliver packages as needed, ensuring that all guests receive their items promptly.
- Deliver messages to meeting rooms, flowers, laundry, packages, and other amenities to guest rooms.
- Assist with room changes, ensuring a seamless transition for our guests.
- Maintain current listings of local and area attractions, special events, and activities.
- Maintain a list of local transportation guides, churches, sports arenas, and other relevant information.
- Assist the Houseperson with guest requests, ensuring that all needs are met promptly and efficiently.
- Ensure the lobby reader board is accurate and up-to-date.
- Provide information, maps, and directions as required, ensuring that all guests have the information they need to navigate our resort.
- Where applicable, answer the console to assist front desk agents, providing support and ensuring a smooth operation.
- Show guest rooms and suites as needed, emphasizing the hotel's amenities and services.
- Perform other duties as requested by management, ensuring that all tasks are completed to the highest standard.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent required, and/or experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
- Must have a valid driver's license for the applicable state (if applicable).
- Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
- Ability to stand during entire shift.
- Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information.
