We are seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Practitioner to join our team at the Macon & Joan Brock Virginia Health Sciences at Old Dominion University. As a Mental Health Practitioner, you will work under the direction and guidance of the Emergency Department psychiatrist, within the Emergency Department of Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

You will be responsible for performing appropriate minor physical exams needed to establish a treatment plan, and developing treatment plans for established patients and or revising in accordance with applicable protocols, standards of care and under the clinical supervision of assigned psychiatrists.

We are offering a competitive salary of approximately $111,962 per year, based on the estimated cost of living in Norfolk, VA. The successful candidate will be required to hold a Master's degree in Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner, and be licensed by the Virginia Board of Medicine and certified by the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), or alternatively, a licensed RN by the Virginia Board of Nursing and a certified licensed Nurse Practitioner.

This is a regular full-time position, and the selected candidate will be responsible for maintaining effective communication with physicians, department administrator and providers regarding individual patient care and to develop a coordinated care plan.
