About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Psychiatric Care Provider to join our team at St. John's College Student Health & Wellness Center.

This is a 9-month, hourly position with an estimated salary range of $90,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on experience.

Job Description:

The Staff Psychiatric Care Provider will participate in SHWC programming and provide psychiatric services to St. John's College students within the scope of practice of a Maryland-licensed psychiatric nurse practitioner or psychiatrist.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive psychiatric services, including diagnostic assessments, psychopharmacological evaluations, treatment planning, crisis management, and ongoing medication management.
  • Prescribe psychotropic medications based on clinical indications and communicate with other providers regarding patient care.
  • Educate patients on their psychiatric condition, provide instructions for recommended interventions, and counsel patients on health promotion and preventative measures.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with state and federal law, medical ethics, and SHWC policies.

Requirements:

  • Education: Psychiatric nurse practitioners require a Master's degree from an accredited school of nursing and a Post-Master's Certificate as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). Psychiatrists require a Medical degree from an accredited school of medicine or osteopathy and completion of psychiatry residency.
  • Minimum of three years' experience providing psychiatric services and licensed or eligible to receive license to practice as a PMHNP or psychiatrist in the state of Maryland.
  • Prescriptive authority with an active Federal Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) number is required.
