Job Overview

The Bellevue School District is seeking a highly skilled Behavior Intervention Technician to join our team. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about working with students with emotional and behavioral challenges.

About the Role

This position involves working directly with students to stabilize their behavior and maximize their learning opportunities. As a Behavior Intervention Technician, you will be responsible for assessing classroom management strategies, identifying triggers that escalate student behavior, and observing and recording data on targeted positive behaviors and negative behaviors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessing the impact of classroom management on student behavior
  • Identifying triggers that escalate student behavior
  • Observing and recording data on targeted positive behaviors and negative behaviors
  • Empowering students to take responsibility for their behavior and academic success
  • Collaborating with team members and behavior intervention specialists to develop and implement positive behavior reinforcement systems
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school graduation or equivalent
  • An associate's degree or higher, or two years of college or pass a formal state or local academic assessment
  • Experience training or working with special education and/or developmentally or behaviorally challenged students
Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $32.86 to $34.81 per hour, based on negotiated collective bargaining agreement. Additionally, you will have access to medical, dental, vision, long-term disability, and life insurance benefits after working 630 hours within a school year.
