About the Role

The Executive Director - Pennsylvania Chapter will serve as the primary leader and external champion of Emgage's PA Chapter, overseeing its staff and volunteers. This role is responsible for implementing Emgage's national agenda and setting a state-wide agenda, ensuring effective execution of programs and managing the growth and sustainability of the Chapter.

Key Responsibilities
  • Staff Management: Lead, support, and manage the state team in coordination with the National Office, providing regular work updates and conducting performance evaluations.
  • Program Execution: Ensure the execution of core organizational programs, including voter engagement, civic education, leadership development, and data analytics on voter trends.
  • Community Organizing: Develop and execute tactics to engage and recruit community stakeholders for civic and political events and initiatives, overseeing event planning activities and acting as a liaison to the BAMEMSA Communities.
  • Communications: Develop and execute marketing and communications plans to increase brand awareness, membership, donations, and volunteers, providing fresh content to the National Communications team.
  • Fundraising/Development: Support chapter fundraising and development to meet annual and long-term revenue goals, identifying and cultivating strategic relationships with funders.
  • Financial Management: Ensure fiscally-sound budgeting, forecasting, expense management, and cash flow for the Chapter budget.
  • Legislative: Identify top legislative issues for the state and develop a strategy to achieve impact, reporting legislative priorities to the National Legislative Director.
  • Data Management: Work with the National Organizing Director on metrics for organizing operations, building the state's email distribution list and membership.
  • Elections: Develop organizing strategies and lead candidate vetting with the National team.
  • Admin: Manage administrative operations for the Chapter, including financial reports, contracts management, office space management, and tools management.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Experience: Minimum 3-5 years' organizational management and project management experience.
  • Skills: Excellent written, public speaking, and organizational skills, with a high level of attention to detail. Outstanding leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate staff and volunteers.
  • Qualifications: Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a strong desire to work with a diverse group of individuals. Entrepreneurial mindset and capacity to manage the Chapter to success in its current state, and to lead future growth and success.
