We are seeking a skilled Radiology Tech to join our team at SSM Health. As a Radiology Tech, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our imaging department.
Key Responsibilities- Explain procedures to patients and provide educational materials to ensure understanding.
- Transport patients to and from clinical areas, verifying patient identity according to policies and procedures.
- Prepare patients for radiology exams by positioning them for the procedure.
- Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines to prevent unnecessary radiation exposure.
- Administer contrast media and medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
- Monitor patient activity during procedures and report any abnormal activity.
- Ensure prompt submission of high-quality images and documents to PACS.
- Maintain a clean and orderly department, including procedure rooms, storage areas, and dressing rooms.
- Perform limited CT procedures in emergent situations when a CT Technologist is not on site.
- Completion of a radiology certification program.
- No experience required.
- Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- ARRT-R Radiography or ARRT-BD Bone Density certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
