We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Paraprofessional to join our team at Educational Empowerment Group.
Job Summary:The Paraprofessional will provide support to teachers and students in a classroom setting, assisting with instructional efforts and helping students master assignments and learning concepts.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist Teachers: Discuss assigned duties with classroom teachers to coordinate instructional efforts and prepare lesson materials.
- Present Subject Matter: Present subject matter to students under the direction and guidance of teachers, using lectures, discussions, or supervised role-playing methods.
- Tutor and Assist: Tutor and assist children individually or in small groups to help them master assignments and reinforce learning concepts.
- Supervise Students: Supervise students in classrooms, halls, cafeterias, playgrounds, and gymnasiums, or on field trips.
- Enforce Policies: Enforce administration policies and rules governing students.
- Grade Assignments: Grade homework and tests, and compute and record results using answer sheets or electronic marking devices.
- Organize Materials: Organize and label materials and display students' work in a manner appropriate for their eye levels and perceptual skills.
- Participate in Conferences: Participate in teacher-parent conferences regarding students' progress or problems.
- Provide Extra Assistance: Provide extra assistance to students with special needs, such as non-English-speaking students or those with physical and mental disabilities.
- Maintain Records: Take class attendance and maintain attendance records.
- Assist with Bus Loading: Assist in bus loading and unloading.
- Attend Staff Meetings: Attend staff meetings and serve on committees as required.
- Education: High School Diploma with two years of college or Associates Degree.
- Experience: Experience in K-12 Education.
- Communication Skills: Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Criminal History Check: Satisfactory completion of local, state, and federal criminal history check and TB test.
- Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrated ability to exhibit strong interpersonal skills with students, parents, and administrators.
