About the Role

The Speech and Language Pathologist provides comprehensive speech pathology services to patients with speech and language disorders, cognitive impairments, visual field deficits, and dysphagia. This role is a per diem opportunity at PIH Health, a leading healthcare provider in the Los Angeles County, Orange County, and San Gabriel Valley region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and treat patients with a range of diagnoses, including speech and language disorders, cognitive impairments, and visual field deficits.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address patient needs.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Utilize video fluoroscopic swallow studies to assess and treat patients with dysphagia.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in speech pathology.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Master's degree or equivalency in Speech/Language Pathology from an accredited education program.
  • A current state license as a Speech/Language Pathologist by the State of California Board of Medical Examiners.
  • A Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Experience in clinical dysphagia evaluation and treatment, as well as experience in the evaluation and treatment of cognitive impairments, neurological disorders, and voice disorders.
Preferred Qualifications

While not required, we prefer candidates with:

  • Spanish speaking skills.
  • A minimum of one year of hospital experience.
  • Basic Windows and mouse skills.
