Position Overview:

Join our team at Hannaford Supermarkets, where we prioritize cleanliness and sustainability in our operations. As a key member of our sanitation team, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for both customers and staff.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the cleanliness of breakrooms and restrooms.
  • Perform daily sweeping and damp mopping of all floors.
  • Respond promptly to spills during your shift.
  • Manage waste disposal both inside and outside the store.
  • Oversee the rotation and cleaning of dairy shelves.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of glass dairy and frozen food doors.
  • Utilize designated equipment to sweep the parking lot.
  • Conduct minor repairs on equipment and fixtures as necessary.
  • Shovel and apply salt to sidewalks when required.
  • Adhere to all company policies and established procedures.
  • Uphold company standards for safety, fire prevention, and security.
  • Maintain productivity levels in line with company expectations.
  • Foster a respectful and dignified work environment for all colleagues.
  • Communicate effectively with management and team members.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Report any necessary repairs or maintenance issues.
  • Fulfill all other assigned duties as required.

Qualifications:
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a commitment to teamwork.
  • Willingness to learn various tasks and technical aspects of the role.
  • Must meet minimum age requirements.
  • Flexible scheduling is essential.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand and walk for the entirety of the shift.
  • Frequent reaching and lifting of cleaning materials.
  • Regular bending, kneeling, and squatting.
  • Capability to handle a variety of cleaning substances.
  • Lift up to 40 lbs. approximately half of the time.
  • Push/pull up to 40 lbs. consistently.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Commitment to maintaining cleanliness of the store and surrounding property.
  • Care for the equipment utilized in this role.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.
