Job Overview

The Veterinary Emergency Operations Manager role is a critical leadership position at Points East Veterinary Specialty Hospital, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the emergency room (ER) and intensive care unit (ICU). This individual will coordinate and manage efficient patient flow, timely response to emergencies, and adherence to established protocols and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operational Oversight: Manage the ER and ICU departments, ensuring seamless workflow and optimal patient care.
  • Staff Management: Provide leadership and guidance to ER and ICU teams, supporting staff development through training, performance evaluations, and mentorship.
  • Resource Allocation: Optimize staffing levels, equipment, and supplies to meet patient care needs while maintaining cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement quality assurance measures to monitor and evaluate patient care within the ER and ICU departments.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in veterinary emergency and critical care settings with strong understanding of ER/ICU operations.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with a minimum of 3 years of supervisory or management experience in a healthcare or veterinary setting.
  • Excellent organizational skills, prioritizing tasks, delegating responsibilities, and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, collaborating effectively with diverse stakeholders and building cohesive teams.

Compensation: This non-exempt (hourly) role offers a competitive salary estimated around $70,000 - $90,000 per year, commensurate with qualifications, experience, and applicable licenses. The position also includes various benefits, including shift differential, tuition assistance, medical plans, 401(k) savings plan, life insurance, paid time off, holidays, short-term disability, and employee assistance program.
