Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Equipment Service Technician to join our team at Gooseneck Implement. This is a field-based position that requires strong mechanical aptitude and excellent communication skills.

About the Role

In this role, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic repairs on John Deere equipment and technology in the field. You will also be required to maintain accurate inventory of parts kept in stock on your service vehicle, identify and communicate solutions for customer service opportunities, and be accountable for billable time and assigned work orders.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnostics and Repairs: Perform diagnostics and repairs on John Deere equipment and technology as required.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory of parts kept in stock on your service vehicle.
  • Customer Service: Identify and communicate solutions for customer service opportunities.
  • Accountability: Be accountable for billable time and assigned work orders.
  • Documentation: Complete and thorough documentation of diagnostics and repairs performed on work orders and submit information on time.
  • Training and Development: Participate in Service EDUCATE Training programs to develop skills and knowledge.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Operate and maintain vehicles, tools, and equipment required to perform job responsibilities.
  • Work Area Maintenance: Maintain a clean work area and perform work in a neat and orderly fashion.
  • Safety: Follow all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 5+ Years of Experience: 5+ years of experience performing service repairs, with a demonstrated ability to consistently meet performance metrics.
  • Techincal Knowledge: Experience performing repairs and maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual procedures on machines of the technician's specialty.
  • System Knowledge: Experience with the mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in off-road, construction, lawn, or heavy equipment.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience working cooperatively in a team environment.
  • Education: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required; Associates degree preferred.
  • Driver's License: Valid driver's license required; CDL (Commercial Driver's License) preferred.

Estimated Salary: $65,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
