About the Opportunity

This 39-bed Medical Surgical GI/GU unit at Butterworth Hospital provides outstanding teamwork and a welcoming atmosphere, making it an ideal place for professionals to grow and learn. The unit specializes in caring for urology and surgical oncology post-operative patients, as well as those with gastrointestinal diagnoses. Our team is experts in nasogastric tubes, urinary catheters, and urologic care, ensuring excellent patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Delivers nursing care responsibly and accountably, adhering to professional standards and legal requirements.
  • Develops and implements individualized patient care plans, utilizing the critical thinking model known as the nursing process.
  • Educates patients and families on disease management, treatment options, and health promotion.
Requirements
  • Associates in Nursing degree required; Bachelor's in Nursing within 5 years of hire.
  • MI Registered Nurse (RN) licensure required.
  • AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days.
