We are currently hiring a Mechanic to join our team in Hickman Mills and surrounding school districts. As a Mechanic at First Student, you will play an integral role in ensuring the safety of the children who count on us for a ride to and from school in those classic yellow buses.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Perform maintenance on brakes, suspensions, drivetrains, & transmissions
  • Complete work orders
  • Assist with mobile emergency services

Requirements:


  • At least 1 year of experience working with automotive, diesel, electric, or CNG vehicles
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to obtain a CDL (we will train you for this)
  • Mechanic's tool set
  • ASE testing and certification a plus

We offer a competitive hourly rate, $18 - $22 per hour, based on experience and qualifications. Additionally, we provide a $1,500 Sign on Bonus, ASE incentive of $.25/hour for each relevant ASE obtained, and annual allowances for boots and prescription safety glasses.
