Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Certified Nurse Midwife Hospitalist to become an integral part of our esteemed OB/GYN Hospitalist Team at Women's Health Arizona. This role is pivotal in delivering outstanding care to a diverse range of patients within our dynamic and high-risk inpatient OB and GYN services.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Engagement:

  • Provide comprehensive care throughout Labor & Delivery, Antepartum, Postpartum, and OB Triage units.
  • Respond to obstetric and gynecological emergencies in the Emergency Department.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient care across Medical-Surgical, Progressive Care, and Intensive Care Units.
  • Support care on Pediatric Floors as necessary, ensuring a holistic approach for patients and their families.
Specific Duties
  • Work in conjunction with OB/GYN Hospitalists to manage low-risk vaginal deliveries, conduct daily patient rounds, and handle uncomplicated OB/GYN consults.
  • Assist in admitting and rounding on high-risk OB patients and managing complex OB/GYN admissions and consults.
  • Act as a First Assist in Cesarean sections and emergency GYN surgeries when usual hospital First Assists are unavailable.
  • Provide expertise in CNM practices and contribute to hospital safety and quality initiatives, actively engaging in quality improvement efforts.
  • Maintain a schedule of in-house shifts per month, with occasional online meetings for professional development and team collaboration.
Qualifications
  • Must demonstrate exceptional collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with OB/GYN Hospitalists during each shift, showing resilience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and proficiency in accurate documentation are essential, along with a willingness to learn and apply billing procedures for hospital patient care.
Requirements
  • Valid Certified Nurse Midwife license in the state of Arizona, committed to providing advanced nursing care to women throughout their lifespan.
  • Previous experience in GYN surgical assistance and/or RNFA certification is beneficial for supporting complex surgical procedures.
  • Demonstrated experience in the OB/GYN field, particularly with inpatient care.
