Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver continuous systems administration, technical assistance, upgrades, and troubleshooting services.
  • Administer Linux or Unix systems to support the DevOps toolkit.
  • Install, configure, and maintain middleware (e.g., JBoss, Apache, Tomcat, Nginx) to enhance DevOps functionalities.
  • Collaborate with application and product teams to comprehend their automation needs and implement optimal CI/CD pipelines.
  • Create unit and integration tests to validate infrastructure code.
  • Identify and rectify engineering defects in existing codebases while continuously improving code quality.
  • Maintain thorough configuration and support documentation.
  • Oversee assigned project components to deliver services in line with established goals.
  • Develop automation solutions through programming and scripting to enhance the DevOps toolkit.
  • Work closely with software development teams to define and implement their DevOps CI/CD pipelines and processes.
  • Integrate AWS native cloud services to boost the performance and resilience of DevOps tools and infrastructure.
  • Contribute to the design, documentation, and dissemination of DevOps and cloud standards, principles, guidelines, and best practices.
  • Explore opportunities to enhance the business value of the DevOps toolchain through research, automation options, and collaboration with application teams.
  • Stay informed about new AWS offerings and services to transform existing development processes into a continuous integration and delivery-driven software development lifecycle.
Required Skills
  • 8+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in building CI/CD pipeline configurations for provisioning and deploying both large and small-scale systems.
  • Proficiency in one or more scripting languages (Shell, Python, JavaScript, Typescript, PowerShell).
  • Demonstrated experience in Serverless Architecture and container orchestration tools such as OpenShift, EKS, Docker Swarm, ECS, Kubernetes, and developing CloudFormation Templates; knowledge of SAM templates and/or Terraform is preferred.
  • Ability to develop and integrate complex DevOps pipelines, including build automation, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, security, monitoring, logging, and alerting.
  • Experience in provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of version control systems (Git) and continuous integration tools (CloudBees, Jenkins).
  • Strong understanding of application build and release processes within a DevOps framework.
  • Experience working in both Linux and Unix environments.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
  • Two years of relevant work experience may substitute for each year of degree-level education.
