FleetPride Diesel Technician II Job Description

FleetPride is the largest after-market distributor of heavy-duty truck and trailer parts in the U.S. We're seeking a skilled Diesel Technician II to join our team.

Job Summary: The Diesel Technician II will perform basic and advanced adjustments, repairs, and component replacements with limited supervision. They will also perform basic diagnostic operations to diagnose vehicle system failures and suggest accurate system repairs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Examine vehicles to determine the extent of damage or malfunction.
  • Provide customers with preventative maintenance solutions.
  • Perform inspections and preventative maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
  • Repair, reline, replace, and adjust brakes.
  • Troubleshoot and repair suspension systems, electrical systems, exhaust systems, steering systems, air conditioning, PTO's, and custom exhaust systems.
  • Adjust, remove, and replace clutches and drivelines.
  • Troubleshoot and repair fuel tanks, fifth wheels, trailer hitches, pintle hooks, auxiliary axles, and frames.
  • Perform tandem alignment, front axle king pin, and bushing repairs.
  • Perform basic aluminum and steel wire welding.
  • Utilize machinery to repair or fabricate driveshafts.
  • File, grind, sand, and smooth filled or repaired surfaces.
  • Remove upholstery, accessories, electrical window, and seat operating equipment and trim to gain access to vehicle bodies and fenders.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.

Requirements:

  • Diesel Technology Associate's degree.
  • 3+ years of experience with class 7 & 8 trucks.
  • Experience repairing 53' trailers.
  • Welding certification.
  • Airbrake certification.
