Industrial CDL Operator

This role involves the operation of specialized machinery at various client locations. The operator is responsible for upholding exceptional customer service standards through effective business practices.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepares the site by setting up necessary equipment, including water blast and vacuum hoses. Safely transports machinery to designated work areas. Conducts minor repairs on vehicles and equipment as required. Monitors and maintains oil and fluid levels as specified. Collaborates with the labor team to perform manual tasks, utilizing specialized equipment for material removal, surface cleaning, and pipe maintenance. Ensures equipment is thoroughly cleaned before returning to the service branch. Undertakes additional tasks as assigned.

FURTHER DUTIES:

This position may assist labor personnel in completing job assignments. Occasionally works alongside the labor team. Requires mechanical aptitude to maintain pumps and equipment at job sites, often without access to tools or a workshop. May be required to work various hours and days, including weekends and holidays, due to the emergency response nature of the industry. Regularly involves long and non-traditional hours.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

Capability to lift and carry weights up to 75 lbs. Ability to sustain a consistent workload involving heavy physical labor. Must maintain alertness and acuity, unaffected by medication, diet, or physical conditions. Proficient in bending, stooping, squatting, sitting, and maneuvering in confined spaces. Must be able to wear respirators in environments with potential chemical exposure. Willingness to travel to various locations for extended periods, with work hours that may exceed the standard 8-hour shift.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma, preferably with a focus on industrial or vocational training. CDL certification is preferred. Experience in an equipment operation or maintenance setting is beneficial. Familiarity with mechanical principles is advantageous. MPW Certification for operating specific equipment, including Water Blasters and Wet/Dry Vacuums, is required. Knowledge of heavy equipment operation and repair is a plus. 7-8 years of hands-on experience in heavy equipment maintenance is preferred.
