Job Summary

\

We are seeking a highly skilled Cybersecurity Engineer to join our team at Northrop Grumman. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing secure infrastructure and cloud resources necessary to host, run, and support applications through all phases of the software development life cycle (SDLC).

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the design of, as well as configure and maintain, infrastructure and/or cloud resources.\
  • Create and maintain continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.\
  • Write scripts and configurations to automate software testing, deployment, and maintenance in a manner consistent with software engineering best practices.\
  • Proactively monitor build and deployment pipelines and infrastructure, apply patches, troubleshoot issues, and resolve errors.\
  • Automate infrastructure and/or cloud resource deployments and configuration using infrastructure-as-code tools.\
  • Remediate findings from vulnerability scanning and penetration testing.\
  • Informally mentor other staff in DevOps concepts and processes.\
  • Work with peers and business partners to identify workflows or processes where automation can improve efficiency and or reduce costs.\
  • Provide Application support, configuration, installation and troubleshooting.\
  • Troubleshoot technical issues, identify the cause, determine possible resolutions, and remediate issues in existing applications.\
  • Maintain and improve overall security posture of systems.\
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.\
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements.\
  • Analyze and mitigate potential security threats.\
  • Develop and implement incident response plans.\
  • Foster a culture of security awareness throughout the organization.\
  • Continuously seek opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in cybersecurity.\
  • Stay up-to-date on emerging threats and technologies.\
  • Drive adoption of industry-leading security practices and tools.\
  • Advocate for investments in people, processes, and technology to improve security.\
  • Engage with stakeholders to educate them on security risks and controls.\
  • Communicate security-related information to both technical and non-technical audiences.\
  • Leverage data analytics to inform security decision-making.\
  • Partner with vendors to negotiate and manage security contracts.\
  • Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement.\
  • Recommend and implement changes to improve security.\
  • Prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.\
  • Maintain accurate records of security-related activities.\
  • Perform regular security audits and assessments.\
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.\
  • Lead by example and promote a positive security culture within the organization.\
  • Represent the organization's security interests externally.\
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.\
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.\
  • 5 years of experience in cybersecurity, IT, or related field.\
  • IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security + CE) or ability to obtain within 6 months.\
  • Experience with build tools (i.e., Maven, Ant, GNU make) and/or continuous integration environments (i.e., Jenkins, GitLab, Bamboo) and/or repositories (i.e., Nexus, JFROG).\
  • Proficiency with Linux-based software development tools.\
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft and Linux Red Hat operating system.\
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (i.e., PERL, Python, Bash, YAML).\
  • Previous experience with Kubernetes implementation and Day 2 Operations.\
  • Previous experience with container technologies.\
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.\
  • Strong critical thinking and logical reasoning skills with the ability to solve issues.\
  • Active DoD Secret clearance with a reinvestigation date occurring in the last 6 years.\
  • Experience with automation/configuration management using either Ansible, Chef, or equivalent.\
  • Experience with source code configuration management tools (i.e., git).\
  • Experience with HashiCorp Packer and Vault.\
  • Familiarity with container hardening and SBOM.\
  • Experience with VMware Cloud Foundation, Terraform, vCenter, vSphere, or similar Virtual Provisioning.\
  • $92,600 - $153,600 per year based on experience.\
  • This position requires US Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance and Special Program Access.\
  • Relocation assistance may be available.\
  • This is a full-time position with a standard work schedule of a 9/80, allowing employees to take every other Friday off.\
