About the PositionChatham University is seeking a highly qualified Assistant Professor of Economics to join our faculty. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in economics, with a focus on infusing business sustainability principles and practices throughout the curriculum.
Key Responsibilities- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in economics, including microeconomics, macroeconomics, managerial economics, environmental economics, and global financial systems.
- Develop and maintain an active research program in the field of economics and publish findings in professional journals.
- Develop course outlines and syllabi for courses taught and ensure they meet Chatham University standards.
- Evaluate and revise curricula and course content.
- Administer and grade examinations.
- Take on an advising load of graduate and undergraduate students.
- Stay informed on changes and innovations in the field by engaging in program, university, and professional service activities.
- Ph.D. degree in Economics, Applied Economics, or economics-related field or foreign degree equivalent.
- 1 year of experience in job offered or as a Postdoctoral Associate in Economics or Economics-related field.
- 12 months' experience teaching undergraduate-level economics course.
- Experience researching institutional economics in governmental policy.
- Experience must include performing quantitative research in applied economics and economic policy.
- Knowledge of the application of advanced statistical methods.
- Knowledge of quantitative research and methods.
- Evidence of scholarly research and published work in peer-reviewed journals relevant to the field of economics.
