Job Overview:

As the Director of Nursing for the Med-Surg and Ortho units, you will hold a pivotal role in ensuring the proficient delivery of compassionate and effective patient care across both Medical and Surgical Units. This position encompasses the overall management of clinical operations, human resources, and financial stewardship.

Your primary focus will always be on enhancing patient care quality, fostering customer satisfaction, and nurturing employee relations. This involves attracting and retaining high-performing team members through effective training and mentorship. The role demands exceptional organizational and communication abilities, along with strong clinical acumen and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to strategic planning to meet objectives aligned with our vision and mission.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards set by DOH, CMS, and other accrediting organizations.
  • Collaborate with the Nursing Home Administrator (NHA) and maintain accountability for the operational and financial performance of the Nursing Department.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives and oversee the QAPI and Infection Control programs in accordance with regulations.
  • Drive recruitment, staffing, and retention strategies for the nursing team.
  • Communicate effectively and timely with staff and stakeholders.
  • Conduct regular meetings with staff and management to ensure alignment with initiatives and objectives.

Qualifications:
  • Active RN license in the state of practice.
  • BSN required; MSN preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Director of Nursing.
  • At least 5 years of nursing leadership experience.
  • BLS Certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) required.
  • Demonstrate exceptional compassion, communication, and critical care skills.
