Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Signal and Information Processing and Modeling Engineer to join our team at The University of Texas at Austin. As a key member of our Applied Research Laboratories, you will be responsible for conducting, managing, and growing basic and applied research programs in defense-related disciplines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct analysis, modeling, and algorithm development in signal processing, statistical modeling, information fusion, underwater acoustics, propagation modeling, and target modeling and tracking.
  • Manage research projects and support business development.
  • Prototype scientific algorithms for proof of concept, validation, and software implementation.
  • Convey research results to sponsors and the scientific community through briefings, conferences, and peer-reviewed publications.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in physics, math, computer or information sciences, engineering, operations research, or related technical area.
  • Demonstrated ability in scientific algorithm development and/or scientific modeling and data analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability with MATLAB or similar abstract language.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage research projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate research findings to sponsors and/or the scientific community.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in physics, math, computer or information sciences, engineering, operations research, or related technical area.
  • Four or more years of MATLAB, Python, or C++ development, scientific algorithm development, modeling and simulation, and/or scientific data analysis experience.
  • Additional experience in the areas mentioned in the required qualifications.

The salary range for this position is $88,500-$120,000+/negotiable depending on qualifications.
