About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team at Corewell Health. As a Radiology Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform quality diagnostic exams after verifying patient identification and physician orders.
  • Acquire accurate patient histories and document in the medical record.
  • Monitor patients during procedures to ensure patient safety.
  • Perform radiographic and related patient care procedures using age-appropriate methods.
  • Ensure STAT requests are relayed to radiologists in a timely manner.
  • Effectively communicate with customers, administrative staff, medical staff, and peers.
  • Proficiently operate diagnostic imaging equipment and follow policy for malfunctions or quality control failures.
  • Utilize ALARA standards for minimizing radiation exposure to patients, staff, and self.
  • Provide procedural information and education to patients and families prior to each exam.
  • Contribute to the effective operations of the department by assisting fellow employees and staying in compliance with quality assurance and quality control.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) accredited radiography program.
  • Registered within 6 months of hire date.
  • Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Basic Life Support Certification for Healthcare Providers from The American Heart Association and/or The American Red Cross.
Working Conditions

This role requires frequent pushing and pulling of up to 30 lb. objects with assistance, occasional lifting of objects over 50 lbs. with assistance, and frequent lifting of up to 40 lbs. The position also requires constant standing, walking, and simple manipulative skills such as writing, as well as frequent performance of moderately difficult manipulative skills such as positioning patients.
