Maintenance Electrician

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Electrician to join our team at Shearer's Foods. As an Electrical Systems Specialist, you will be responsible for analyzing and correcting problems, repairing and overhauling electrical equipment and controls.

• Analyze and correct problems with electrical systems and equipment
• Repair and overhaul electrical equipment and controls
• Inspect and test electrical equipment, lighting, signal, communication, and power circuits
• Isolate defects in wiring, switches, motors, and other electrical equipment using instruments such as ammeters, ohmmeters, and voltmeters
• Replace faulty switches, sockets, and other elements of electrical systems as needed
• Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures and inspect completed work for conformance with requirements of existing building and safety codes

• 3-5 years of manufacturing maintenance electrical experience
• PLC experience required
• Knowledge of electrical safe work practices, AC and DC electrical theory, reading and creating electrical prints and control schematics, motor control, personal computer hardware and software, computer networks, pneumatic and hydraulic valves, photo eyes, proximity sensors, limit switches, breakers, and fuses
• Basic electric motor repair, electrical construction, and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and ladder logic
• Ability to perform mechanical work, valve replacement, conveyor bearing and chain replacement, motor/gearbox replacement, and lube routes
