Medical Dosimetrist

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Dosimetrist to join our team at Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada. As a key member of our radiation oncology department, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing treatment plans for our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Treatment Planning: Generate radiation therapy treatment plans using computer software and various imaging modalities, demonstrating strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Anatomy Identification: Identify and delineate anatomy and anatomical positioning on various imaging modalities, ensuring precise treatment planning.
- Beam Modifying Devices: Identify the need to create compensation filters, custom shields, and other beam modifying devices to optimize treatment outcomes.
- Quality Assurance: Perform patient-specific quality assurance activities under the direction of the medical physicist, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Treatment Plan Implementation: Complete treatment plans accurately and in a timely manner based on complexity, and effectively communicate plan details with physicians and staff.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work collaboratively with radiation oncologists, medical physicists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless treatment planning and delivery.
- Documentation and Record-Keeping: Document treatment planning and quality assurance tasks accurately, and transfer treatment plans, treatment parameters, and other relevant information to the record and verify system.
- Credentials: Possess credentials as a Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD) and a current and valid certification as a qualified medical dosimetrist by the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (MDCB).
- Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in a related field and relevant experience in medical dosimetry, radiation therapy, or a related field.
- Skills and Abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
The work environment for this position is a fast-paced radiation oncology department, with frequent contact with staff and patients. The employee is regularly exposed to direct contact with patients with potential for exposure to blood, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, and other conditions common to a clinic environment.
